Nadav Raisberg Makes History as First Israeli Cyclist to Join IPT in Four Years

Israel has witnessed a significant milestone in its cycling history as Nadav Raisberg, a 22-year-old cyclist from Kibbutz Dafna, becomes the first Israeli rider to join the Israel – Premier Tech (IPT) team in four years. Raisberg’s two-year contract ensures his participation in major races worldwide for the next two seasons.

Raisberg expressed his excitement and determination, stating, “This is incredible. I’ve dreamed of this moment. I will do everything I can to go as far as possible.” His rapid progress and impressive performance in various races have caught the attention of the ProTeam management, leading to his promotion from the Israel – Premier Tech Academy.

Kjell Carlstrom, IPT’s General Manager, praised Raisberg’s maturity and adaptability, stating, “He has shown maturity and quick adaptability in an exceptional way, proving he can be relied upon and showing all the qualities required to earn a pro contract and a spot on the team’s senior roster starting in 2024.” Carlstrom also emphasized the team’s belief in Raisberg’s potential to inspire other Israeli talents.

Sylvan Adams, the owner of IPT, commended Raisberg’s impact in the U23 continental development squad and expressed his pride in the young rider’s promotion to the senior ProTeam. Adams eagerly anticipates Raisberg’s future results in the upcoming season.

Raisberg’s passion for cycling runs deep in his family, with his father, Boris, being a former Israeli road race champion in 1987. Inspired by his father, Raisberg began his journey on two wheels at the age of ten, initially focusing on off-road cycling. However, it was Guy Niv, the first Israeli rider to complete the Tour de France, who convinced Raisberg to transition to road racing. Raisberg expressed gratitude towards Niv, describing him as an older brother figure and stating, “I feel like I’m on top of the world now… I have big goals… one day I will go for victories” in Grand Tours.

The signing of Raisberg is not only a significant moment for the young rider but also holds great importance for the team’s founder, Ron Baron. Baron sees this achievement as a testament to the team’s vision of promoting Israeli riders and believes that Raisberg’s success will inspire more cyclists to follow in his footsteps.

With Raisberg’s talent and determination, the Israeli cycling community eagerly awaits the next season to witness his achievements and hopes for more Israeli riders to join him on the international stage.
