Marco Frigo Signs Pro Contract with Israel – Premier Tech
Circuit des Ardennes stage winner and Trofeo Piva runner-up, Marco Frigo, is set to turn professional with Israel – Premier Tech in 2023, transitioning from the team’s development project, Israel Cycling Academy.
Frigo, who impressed in his first season with Israel Cycling Academy, has signed a two-year deal with the WorldTeam after already racing in IPT colors earlier this year. IPT General Manager Kjell Carlström praises Frigo’s talent and hard work, stating that they are looking forward to his growth and expecting big results from him.
This promotion to the WorldTeam signifies a change in approach for Israel – Premier Tech, with an increased focus on young talent alongside its experienced leaders, explains Sporting Manager Rik Verbrugghe. He further notes that Frigo’s appointment exemplifies the goal of the Israel Cycling Academy in nurturing riders until they are ready to join the WorldTour level.
Frigo, standing at 1.88 meters and the former U23 Italian road race champion, aspires to be a General Classification rider and believes the opportunity with the team is a natural progression for him. He is excited about the next two years and aims to find his place in the team while supporting his teammates and pursuing his ambition of becoming a Grand Tour rider.
