Lotto Dstny: Two Top Sprinters Head to Gent-Wevelgem with Ambitious Team

With Arnaud De Lie and Caleb Ewan, Lotto Dstny is bringing a strong team to the upcoming Gent-Wevelgem race. Both sprinters are eager to shine in this historic Classic.

Gent-Wevelgem is known for its rich history and challenging route. The riders will pass World War 1 Monuments while battling it out in the picturesque Flanders Fields. The race features tough climbs like Monteberg, Baneberg, Scherpenberg, and the infamous Kemmelberg. Additionally, the course includes unpaved Plugstreets to add an extra element of excitement.

Arnaud De Lie and Caleb Ewan will both represent Lotto Dstny in the race. They will be supported by Florian Vermeersch, Brent Van Moer, Frederik Frison, Jasper De Buyst, and Cedric Beullens.

Ewan, who will be participating in Gent-Wevelgem for the third time, is determined to achieve a good result this year. He shares, “The big difference compared to previous years is that I’m at the start with real ambitions. I already won Scheldeprijs and Brussels Cycling Classic in the past and to win in Flanders is always special.

The Australian sprinter acknowledges that Gent-Wevelgem is not a typical sprinters’ race anymore and acknowledges the influence of the weather conditions. Nevertheless, Ewan is excited about the opportunity and emphasizes his pursuit of the best possible outcome.

De Lie, an emerging talent on the team, will be racing alongside Ewan. Ewan expresses his view, “I don’t think we’re rivals. It even gives me some peace of mind. I’m not the only leader, so we share the pressure a bit. We’re two totally different kinds of sprinters, and the only ambition is to win with the team on Sunday, it doesn’t matter which of the seven riders it is.

This will be De Lie’s second participation in Gent-Wevelgem. After recovering from a minor illness prior to Milano-Sanremo, he feels confident with his current form and is eager to contribute to a strong team performance in the race. “Now, I’m back to a good level“, he confirms.

Lotto Dstny’s team manager and support staff will provide guidance and assistance to ensure the riders are well-positioned for success in the challenging race.
