Lisbon, Oeiras, and Cascais Chosen as Official Start for La Vuelta 24

The 79th edition of La Vuelta will kick off in Lisbon, Oeiras, and Cascais, as announced by Javier Guillén, the general director of the race. The opening stage will begin in Lisbon and conclude in Oeiras, with stage 2 starting from Cascais. This marks the fifth time in the race’s history that it will start from a foreign territory.

Lisbon, Portugal’s capital city, is no stranger to hosting La Vuelta. It was the first foreign city to hold a start in 1997, with the event’s first three stages taking place there. The historic edition ended in Madrid with Alex Zulle claiming victory.
