Kévin Vauquelin Secures Third Place on First World Tour Podium
After a thrilling finish, Kévin Vauquelin celebrated his first podium placement in a World Tour competition. Reflecting on his performance, Vauquelin shared, “I was far back at the start of the last three kilometers, and as soon as we got onto the false flat, it went up on the right. I found myself tackling the front of the peloton. The first thing I said to myself was that I was ideally placed to avoid a break. I knew I had to launch at 300 meters, following the information we’d been given at the briefing, with the left-hand turn.” Despite facing challenges during the race, Vauquelin’s strategic approach paid off as he crossed the finish line in third place. “I’m not a sprinter, but 3rd is good enough. I fought all the way to the line for the bonuses.” This achievement marks a significant milestone in Vauquelin’s cycling career, showcasing his determination and skill on the world stage.
