Jay Vine triumphs in Cesena. Magnus Sheffield new leader of the Settimana Internazionale Coppi e Bartali 2025

With a beautiful solo action in the final stages of the race, Australian Jay Vine (UAE Emirates XRG) won today the third stage of the Settimana Internazionale Coppi e Bartali, a race organized by the Gruppo Sportivo Emilia, which was held starting in Riccione and finishing in Cesena.
The day kicked off in pouring rain, with a relatively quiet start before the day’s breakaway was formed by German Gómez (Team Polti VisitMalta), Marcel Camprubí (Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team), Alexander Konychev (Team Vorarlberg) and Pascal Eenkhoorn (Soudal Quick-Step). Precisely the latter proved to be the most active and attempted a solo action, being caught only before the last passage to the Sorrivoli GPM thanks to the work of UAE Emirates XRG.On the last climb of the day, the one towards Diolaguardia, Mauri Vansevenant (Soudal Quick-Step) broke the pace, promptly followed by Jay Vine. The Australian forces the pace near the GPM, breaking away from his adventure companion and taking off with about 20 seconds on his pursuers. In the final stretch, Vine administers the advantage and comes alone on the Cesena finish line with 25″ on the chasing group ruled by Magnus Sheffield (Ineos Grenadiers) on Simone Velasco (XDS Astana) who complete the day’s podium. Thanks to his second place in today’s stage, the U.S. Sheffield is the new leader of the general classification with 3″ over Britain’s Ben Tulett (Team Visma Lease a Bike) and 4″ over Simone Velasco (XDS Astana Team).
