Kazakhstan’s Alexey Lutsenko Claims Gold in Asian Games Individual Time Trial

Kazakhstan’s Alexey Lutsenko has taken home the gold medal in the Elite Men Individual Time Trial at the Asian Summer Games in Hangzhou, China. Lutsenko, representing the Kazakhstan National Team, showcased an impressive performance on the hilly 39.6 km route. He finished with a final time of 48 minutes and 5 seconds, with an average speed of 49.401 km/h.

This victory marks Lutsenko’s third gold medal in the individual time trial event at the Asian Games, following his successes in South Korea in 2014 and Indonesia in 2018.

“For me and our team, the Asian Games was the biggest goal of the season. Actually, we were preparing for this competition during the whole season to come here in the top form. It is an important start both for Kazakhstan and Astana Qazaqstan Team as our professional team represents our country all around the world. I am super happy and proud to bring this gold medal to our national team, to Kazakhstan. We elaborated a good plan for the race, and it worked very well. Now it is time for a short recovery before the road race on Thursday. It won’t be an easy race, but together with Yevgeniy Fedorov, Gleb Brussenskiy, and Dmitriy Gruzdev we are motivated to give our all for the best possible result,” said Alexey Lutsenko.
