Julian Alaphilippe’s Strong Performance on Willunga Hill

Casper Pedersen earned the most combative rider of the day award during the iconic Willunga Hill stage at the Tour Down Under. Pedersen was the first rider to attack and put in a phenomenal effort as part of a breakaway group before being brought back just before the top of the climb.

Julian Alaphilippe’s solid performance saw him secure fourth place on the stage, positioning him sixth overall, just eight seconds from the podium with one stage remaining. Alaphilippe praised his team’s efforts and expressed contentment with his result, stating, “It felt good to be back at the front and fight for victory, on a day that due to the heat wasn’t easy at all.”

The Tour Down Under continues with an uphill finish on Mount Lofty. Alaphilippe’s performance on Willunga Hill and the upcoming stage promise an exciting finale to the race.
