Jorgenson and Kelderman show themselves in fourth stage of Paris-Nice
## Jorgenson and Kelderman Shine in Fourth Stage of Paris-Nice
The nail-biting fourth stage of Paris-Nice proved to be a challenging one, with seven categorized climbs and an uphill finish. The stage saw Lucas Plapp and Santiago Buitrago break away from the peloton, with Buitrago emerging as the strongest rider on the final climb of Mont Brouilly.
Among the contenders, Matteo Jorgenson and Wilco Kelderman showcased their strength by climbing alongside the leading riders. Jorgenson secured an eighth-place finish, while Kelderman crossed the line in eleventh place.
Sports director Frans Maassen commended the performance of the Team Visma | Lease a Bike riders, stating, “A fine performance by Wilco and Matteo. They were well in front on the final climb and held on strongly. We thought Matteo would be good, so this only confirms what we hoped for. We had to endure the race, and I think the guys rode a good race.”
Reflecting on the challenging day, Maassen emphasized the toughness of the competition, noting, “At the end there were only fifteen riders left, so that says it all.” Jorgenson currently sits in eighth place in the general classification, aiming for a strong overall performance. Maassen outlined, “Our goal is to go for a good general classification.”
Looking ahead, the team eyes another opportunity with sprinter Olav Kooij and assesses the possibilities for the general classification in the upcoming stages of Paris-Nice.
Tomorrow’s stage presents a chance for the team to continue their strong showing and potentially make further gains in the rankings.
