Jordi Meeus Secures Podium Finish at Paris-Bourges

Jordi Meeus of BORA – hansgrohe showcased an impressive performance at the autumn classic Paris-Bourges, finishing third in a sprint finish. The team demonstrated excellent race control and sprint preparations, leading Meeus to secure a spot on the podium.

The race saw a breakaway group being brought back just two kilometers from the finish line. Despite the hectic finale, BORA – hansgrohe’s riders worked tirelessly to support Meeus. Finally, with around 180m to go, Danny van Poppel dropped Meeus off in a perfect sprint position.

Reflecting on the race, Meeus expressed his gratitude towards his teammates, saying, “The boys rode super strong and worked a lot to bring back the breakaway – so a big shoutout to them!” He also acknowledged the speed of the competitors who ultimately edged him out, stating, “I was leading the sprint but Démare and De Lie came up with a bit more speed and caught me right at the line.”

Despite narrowly missing out on the victory, Meeus remained optimistic and eager for the upcoming Paris-Tours race, saying, “The legs are feeling good and I’m looking forward to Sunday’s Paris-Tours.”

The final results of Paris-Bourges saw Arnaud Démare taking the top spot, followed by Alexis De Lie in second place. Meeus and his teammate, Danny van Poppel, both finished with the same time, coming in third and sixth, respectively.

With this impressive performance, Meeus has shown his potential in the competitive cycling world and has undoubtedly gained attention as a formidable sprinter. As he sets his sights on Paris-Tours, fans eagerly await his next endeavor in the pursuit of victory.
