Jordi Meeus 4th at the Cyclassics in Hamburg

It was almost a podium hat-trick for Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe in Hamburg. After Marco Haller’s victory in 2022 and Danny van Poppel’s second place in 2023, the podium was also within reach today. With Jordi Meeus in fourth place, it was narrowly missed.It was the battle the pros have fought so often in Hamburg: sprinter vs. puncheur. Once again the Waseberg played the leading role. But this time, no decisive group was able to break away on the final crossing. Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe rode attentively up the kicker from the front. At the 3km mark, a trio from the team took the lead again and kept the pace high. Jordi Meeus entered the final kilometre with Danny van Poppel as his lead-out rider. With 400 metres to go, Danny van Poppel launched the sprint from the front.
