The INEOS Grenadiers, a prominent professional cycling team, is seeking a talented and experienced Chef to join their team. The Chef will play a crucial role in providing nutritious and healthy meals to support the performance of the team’s riders. This opportunity comes with the responsibility of maintaining elite standards in food preparation, hygiene, and nutritional composition.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
– Ensuring elite standards of planning, cooking, and hygiene are maintained in food preparation and eating environments.
– Designing menus, sourcing high-quality ingredients, and preparing meals that meet the nutrition guidelines specified by INEOS Grenadiers’ nutritionists.
– Collaborating with the wider chef team to conduct research and development of performance health foods for elite professional cycling.
– Managing stock and ensuring safe food storage during races and camps.
– Following nutrition protocols and providing feedback for continuous improvement and optimization of nutrition support for riders.
Requirements for this role include a minimum of 5 years of professional cooking experience and knowledge of the nutritional content of foods and meals. Additionally, the ideal candidate should possess relevant hospitality and catering qualifications, a food hygiene and safety certificate, and a full clean UK/EU driving license. It is also essential to have the right to work in the EU.
Desirable qualifications and experiences include working in a high-performance environment, nutrition or dietetic-related education, and Michelin restaurant experience. Fluency in English and at least one European language is preferred.
The successful candidate will be expected to work quickly and efficiently in a calm manner to deliver meals on time and of high quality. The ability to adapt rapidly to changing needs and resources is also crucial in meeting the nutritional requirements of riders and staff. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail for maintaining accurate food records and recipes are essential. Effective communication skills to explain menus, food macros, and nutritional strategies to staff and athletes are equally important.
