Jan Tratnik Expresses Satisfaction with Team Performance in Volta ao Algarve
In the final stage of Volta ao Algarve, the riders faced a challenging course with five categorized climbs, including the steep Alto do Malhão. Despite a valiant effort from Wout van Aert, the stage win eluded him, with Daniel Felipe Martínez clinching the victory. With a top-ranking finish in the overall classification, Jan Tratnik of Team Visma | Lease a Bike expressed his contentment with the team’s performance.
Tratnik lauded the teamwork, stating, “We tried to make the race attractive… We did a fantastic job as a team today, and I am happy with my result in the final classification.” Despite their collective efforts, Van Aert expressed some disappointment, remarking, “I was hoping to get closer to the stage win during my attack… Unfortunately, it didn’t work out.”
The final rankings saw Remco Evenepoel of Soudal – Quick Step emerge as the overall winner, with Tratnik securing a commendable third place. This strong performance at Volta ao Algarve sets a positive tone for the upcoming races for Team Visma | Lease a Bike.
