Israeli Cyclists Aim for Success at Tour of Turkey
Israel – Premier Tech is sending two Israeli riders to compete in the Tour of Turkey, with hopes of achieving good results. Itamar Einhorn, the first Israeli to win a professional cycling race, will be focusing on the mass sprints, while Guy Niv is targeting the mountaintop finish in stage 4.
Einhorn will have the support of the Israel – Premier Tech sprint train, known for being one of the fastest trains in professional cycling. Matthias Brändle, Alex Dowsett, Rick Zabel, Patrick Bevin, and Guy Niv will all be guiding Einhorn through the final kilometers of each stage.
While Einhorn will have multiple opportunities to contest sprint finishes, stage 4 presents a unique challenge for Niv. The 146.2 km stage from Izmir to Manisa includes a 14 km climb with an average gradient of 7.2%. Niv, who lives close to the slopes of Mount Hermon, is excited about this climb.
Niv stated, “I will definitely go for a result that day. Looking at the start list, it is going to be a tough battle. Let’s see who, in the end, is going to be on the start line, but it seems like Nairo Quintana, Diego Ulissi, and Jay Vine are coming.”
The competition at the Tour of Turkey will be fierce, but the Israeli riders have high hopes for success. With strong support and determination, they are ready to make their mark in the world of professional cycling.
