Israel – Premier Tech’s Star-Studded Lineup Set for 2023 Santos Tour Down Under

Israel – Premier Tech’s 2023 racing calendar is ready to kick off with a strong lineup at the Santos Tour Down Under. The team boasts a star-studded roster including four-time Tour de France winner Chris Froome, two-time Tour Down Under winner Daryl Impey, and Tour de France stage winner Simon Clarke. The team’s newest Sports Director, Sam Bewley, is excited about the changes to the race route and expects an exciting race. Bewley states, “we have a strong team with the likes of two-time winner Daryl Impey and Tour de France stage winner Simon Clarke providing a wealth of experience and it’s a big deal to see Chris Froome return to the race for just the second time in his career so no doubt the Aussie fans will be cheering him on.”

Froome expresses his excitement about returning to Adelaide for the Santos Tour Down Under, saying, “I’m really excited to be returning to Adelaide for the Santos Tour Down Under for only the second time in my career. The race has changed a lot since I was there in 2010, getting bigger and better each year, to now be one of the most important races on the cycling calendar. I know the Aussie fans are some of the best in the world so I can’t wait to be back on their home soil and have them cheer us on.”

Daryl Impey, the only rider to win the race consecutively in 2018 and 2019, is looking forward to taking on a different role this year as it will be his final year of racing. Impey says, “The Santos Tour Down Under is always a race I get excited for and a place I love to race. I appreciate how the fans have cheered and supported me every time I race there. Although we received a late invite, I am still hoping to do my best out there and hopefully, I can support Corbin Strong and the rest of the team deep into the finals.”

The Santos Tour Down Under kicks off on Saturday with the Schwalbe Classic criterium, followed by the stage race on Tuesday. The team will be represented by Sebastian Berwick, Simon Clarke, Chris Froome, Derek Gee, Daryl Impey, Taj Jones, and Corbin Strong. Sam Bewley will serve as the Sports Director for Israel – Premier Tech.
