IPT promotes Floris Van Tricht to the ProTeam
Israel – Premier Tech is pleased to announce the promotion of Floris Van Tricht from the IPT Academy to the ProTeam for the remainder of the 2025 season and 2026.
The decision from Jakob Fuglsang to retire mid-season opened up a spot for Van Tricht, explains IPT General Manager Kjell Carlström.
“Jakob’s retirement meant we had a free space for the rest of the 2025 season so it made sense to give the opportunity to one of our IPT Academy riders,” says Carlström. “Floris Van Tricht was a logical choice and as the plan was always to promote him next year, he can now make the most of the opportunity to gain more experience with the ProTeam. Floris has already raced up on many occasions and shows a lot of promise so we’re excited to see what he can do.
“Floris’ promotion is the latest in a long line of riders who have made the jump from the Continental Team, which really is a validation of the strength of our development program. Our IPT Academy is an exceptional program which gives up-and-coming riders the chance to gain experience in both the Conti and ProTeams and presents a viable pathway to turning professional. Looking at the trajectory of a rider like Joe Blackmore, who made his debut with the IPT Academy last year and is now racing his first Tour de France, is a prime example of the opportunities we present.”

It’s a dream come true for the 24-year-old Belgian, who took his first win with the IPT Academy last year at Midden-Brabant Poort Omloop.
“I am super proud to step up to the highest level of professional cycling with Israel – Premier Tech,” adds Van Tricht. “I started cycling when I was eight years old with the dream of becoming a professional so it’s very exciting to make that happen now. I learned a lot in the IPT Academy, how professional cycling actually works, and I’m very thankful to everyone in the team for this period.
“I am very excited to do my first Classics campaign with the team next year as I grew up in Flanders with all of these races so it will be really special and a dream come true to do these races.”
