Astana Qazaqstan’s Samuele Battistella Finishes Seventh at the Tour de la Provence
The French stage race Tour de la Provence concluded with an impressive performance from Astana Qazaqstan Team leader Samuele Battistella, who secured a solid seventh place in the final General Classification. The race ended with a challenging climb up Montagne de Lure, where Battistella showcased his increasing form.
The team provided excellent support throughout the day, ensuring Battistella was protected before the final climb. Despite the fierce competition, Battistella stayed with the leading pack until Nairo Quintana launched his winning attack. Battistella fought hard until the end, finishing 12th, 1 minute and 27 seconds behind the winner.
“I am really happy with my performance in my first race of the season. I was able to build a good form for this first race and a Top-10 really motivates me ahead of the next starts. I am looking forward to keep on improving and to aim for more in the upcoming races,” – said Samuele Battistella.
