Greg Van Avermaet Takes Second Place in Tour du Limousin (3rd stage)
Greg Van Avermaet: “A good sign”
“It was a difficult day with a tough course. In the final, we raced to win with Benoît (Cosnefroy) and we didn’t miss much. That mistake in the last few moments was perhaps the key moment of the race, because we’d started out with just the two of us, and it wasn’t easy to get going again and regroup for the sprint. It’s a shame to come so close to victory, but I’m still very happy with the result. I’m feeling better every day since the Tour de Wallonie (July 23-27) and I’m very motivated to get good results. It’s a good sign to be at the front on a stage like today. We’ll see if there’s a chance of turning the general classification around tomorrow, but Alex Aranburu looks strong and has a good speed.”
