GreenEDGE Cycling Announces Liv AlUla Jayco as the Title Sponsor of Women’s World Team for 2024 Season

GreenEDGE Cycling has confirmed its final 2024 women’s team roster and is excited to announce that Liv Cycling will now be the title sponsor of the women’s World Team. Starting from January 1st, 2024, the team will be known as ‘Liv AlUla Jayco’.

The addition of Liv Cycling as the title sponsor represents a further commitment from Giant Group, the team’s technical partner. The Australian outfit is also welcoming seven new riders, creating a diverse and balanced 16-rider strong setup.

In addition to the new sponsor, the team is introducing a women’s development team under the GreenEDGE Cycling banner. This development team will share the same identity as the women’s World Team, creating strong cohesion between the two teams racing on Liv bikes.

With the merger of GreenEDGE Cycling and Liv Racing TeqFind, five new cyclists from the Dutch set-up will join the Liv AlUla Jayco World Team for the upcoming season. Spanish champion Mavi Garcia brings a wealth of experience, with strong performances at the Tour de France Femmes and Giro d’Italia Donne. Joining her are Dutch riders Jeanne Korevaar, Silke Smulders, and Quinty Ton, as well as Swedish cyclist Caroline Andersson.

General Manager Brent Copeland is thrilled with the additions: “The partnership with Liv Racing TeqFind has brought in some exciting new riders, and it is great to have this extra layer of depth. Mavi has shown she is one of the best climbers in the peloton in recent years and she will be one of the leaders. The new signings also mean that we have a more balanced roster, which is important for being able to compete across a wide range of races throughout a busy and growing women’s racing calendar.”

The team is also focused on developing young talent. One promising signing is 21-year-old Ella Wyllie from New Zealand, who is set to make her debut in the WorldTour peloton with the Liv AlUla Jayco squad in 2024. The team has confidence in their ability to nurture talent, as demonstrated by the growth of Australian rider Ruby Roseman-Gannon, who has achieved multiple WorldTour top-five placings in her second season.

Copeland emphasizes the importance of supporting young talent: “The women’s peloton is developing at a rapid rate year after year, and it is important to be at the forefront of the growth and to help young talent prepare for the demands of stepping up to the Women’s WorldTour peloton. We have a nice mixture of youth and experience in our new roster for 2024, the addition of Ella is a very exciting one for us. She burst onto the scene this year and has already shown glimpses of what she is capable of. Now it is our job to help her reach her full potential, and we believe we have found a young star.”
