Gleb Syritsa Takes Second Place in Rainy Stage 6 of Le Tour de Langkawi
Stage 6 of Le Tour de Langkawi was heavily impacted by rain, but that didn’t stop Astana Qazaqstan Team’s Gleb Syritsa from giving another impressive performance. Despite the challenging conditions, Syritsa claimed second place in the sprint, adding to his previous victories in Stage 1 and second place finish in Stage 2.
“Honestly, I like the rain and I can say that today it was my weather, I felt quite comfortable today. But, of course, it was a bit nervous and dangerous. Once again my teammates did a great job for me and in the final I was able to find a good position for the sprint. Perhaps I got a bit boxed in on the last straight, but at the same time, maybe, I did a small mistake, starting my sprint too late. However, every race and every sprint are a lesson for me, a possibility to gain some new experience which will help me to become stronger”, – said Gleb Syritsa.
Despite Syritsa’s impressive performance, the General Classification of Le Tour de Langkawi remained unchanged after Stage 6. Ivan Ramiro Sosa from Colombia maintained his lead, while Andrey Zeits is currently in 9th place, 2 minutes and 33 seconds behind the leader. In the sprinter classification, Syritsa is in second place, just 1 point behind the winner of Stage 6, Erlend Blikra.
