Giro d’Italia: Valentin Paret-Peintre Continues to Shine with 5th Place Finish on Stage 13
Young cyclist Valentin Paret-Peintre showcased his talent once again in the Giro d’Italia, finishing 5th on stage 13. This marked his third successful escape in this edition of the race, having previously made breakaways on stage 8 and stage 12. Paret-Peintre, just 21 years old and participating in his first grand tour, has covered an impressive 418 kilometers in breakaways so far.
“I’m proud of what Valentin has achieved,” says Didier Jannel, sports director of the AG2R CITROËN team. “He gallantly rode to the front again on this 13th stage, having already shown himself the day before. It was a stage that suited him well, with a final that was ideal for his climbing skills. He wanted to show that he could do much better after his disappointment on Thursday. It’s really a great performance for the first grand tour of his career.”
