Giacomo Nizzolo Withdraws from Giro D’Italia to Focus on Recovery
Giacomo Nizzolo, the Italian cyclist, will not be participating in stage 14 of the Giro D’Italia due to his recent decline in performance and lack of power. Concerned about his well-being, Nizzolo and his team have collectively decided to prioritize his recovery and identify any underlying issues before the second half of the season.
“I’m disappointed to leave the Giro D’Italia as it’s one of my favorite races and I came here with a lot of motivation to win. I started the race well and felt good in the first week, but in the past week, I have lacked my normal power and just haven’t had the legs I would normally have. The guys have worked really hard for me, so I want to thank them for everything and also the staff and, of course, RCS. I really hope the team can finish the race off with a good result next week,” said Nizzolo.
Nizzolo’s recovery will be closely monitored by the International Professional Team (IPT), who will determine his future program accordingly.
