Giacomo Nizzolo Wins Opening Stage of Vuelta a Castilla y Leon

Italian sprinter Giacomo Nizzolo claimed his first victory of the season in the opening stage of the Vuelta a Castilla y Leon. Supported by his team, Israel – Premier Tech, Nizzolo launched his final push to the finish line and distanced all the other sprinters in the race, making it look easy.

The course, which was predominantly flat, suited Nizzolo perfectly. With the control of his team, Nizzolo raced from the front and stayed in a strong position throughout the race. Reflecting on the team’s effort, Nizzolo said, “The team worked hard all day…I am very happy to deliver and give this victory back to my team.”

As a result of his win, Nizzolo will wear the leader’s jersey in the second and final stage of the race. He expressed confidence in his form, saying “I think I am in good shape…I am going to give it my all to be there. I have nothing to lose.”
