German Sprinter Max Kanter Joins Astana Qazaqstan Team

Astana Qazaqstan Team has announced the addition of German sprinter Max Kanter to its roster for the next two seasons (2024 and 2025). Kanter, who is 25 years old, expressed his excitement about joining the team and his confidence in achieving great success alongside Astana.

“It is a good move to me. Astana Qazaqstan Team is a team with a great and successful history in cycling. Joining the team now means a lot to me and I am very confident that I will achieve some great things together with Astana. I am ready and I am looking forward to help the team in this progress,” said Max Kanter.

Kanter has already achieved notable results in both junior and under-23 categories. He became the U23 German road race champion in 2018, won a stage at the Tour de l’Avenir, and secured a solid second place in the U23 Tour of Flanders. As a professional, he has achieved podium finishes in stages of La Vuelta, Gooiksi Pijl, and Primus Classic, as well as a fourth-place finish in Milano-Torino in 2022.

Speaking about the transfer, General Manager of Astana Qazaqstan Team, Alexandr Vinokurov, stated, “We know Max as a strong and promising sprinter. Now we are ready to work together, to provide Max the opportunities because we believe he can deliver by himself. It is a good transfer for Astana and will help us continue our work on creating a strong and successful sprinter group.”

Astana Qazaqstan Team is confident that Kanter’s addition will contribute to the team’s ongoing development and success in sprinting.
