Florian Sénéchal Impresses with Top 10 Finish in Binche
Former French Champion once again in the mix after a hectic finale.
Tuesday marked the 35th edition of the Binche-Chimay-Binche race in Belgium, and Soudal Quick-Step rider Florian Sénéchal emerged as the team’s highest-placed finisher once again. This result solidifies his strong form in the final weeks of the season.
Our team took an attacking approach on the local lap, as we aimed to shake up the race and prevent a small sprint finish. Yves Lampaert made a bold move and rode clear with 30 kilometers to go. After Lampaert was caught, Casper Pedersen launched a massive attack that kept him in the lead until five kilometers before the finish.
A crash just before the flamme rouge (the red kite marking one kilometer to go) caused several of our riders to be delayed. Despite the challenging terrain in Binche, Sénéchal managed to rapidly make up ground after the crash, securing a commendable seventh-place finish. This marks his third consecutive top ten finish with the team, following his success in the Circuito Franco-Belge and the Famenne Ardenne Classic.
