The National Cycling League (NCL) has announced its plans for the 2024 season, which includes the addition of an Atlanta expansion team and the re-signing of athletes to the Denver Disruptors and Miami Nights.
After a successful inaugural season, the NCL is expanding its reach with the addition of its first-ever expansion team in Atlanta, Georgia. In addition to the Atlanta expansion, the NCL has already started re-signing athletes for its franchise teams, the Denver Disruptors and Miami Nights. Both teams had an impressive 2023 season, emerging as top contenders in American cycling. NCL Founder Paris Wallace remarked, “Our inaugural season exceeded all expectations, drawing in crowds of thousands, viewership from around the world, and a successful new format that works for America.”
Star athletes such as Paola Muñoz, Andrea Cyr, Noah Granigan, Riley Sheehan, and Clever Martinez have already been re-signed by the league, with more announcements expected in the coming weeks.
Furthermore, the NCL has formed partnerships with five other teams for the 2024 season, opening opportunities for collaboration and attracting top talent from the United States and Canada. Reed McCalvin, NCL’s VP of Teams, expressed excitement about the high demand for partnerships, stating, “We are excited to attract top teams and athletes from across the United States and Canada.”
The NCL has also opened its application process for athletes and teams interested in participating in the 2024 season. Details regarding 2024 events, including dates, cities, and participating teams, will be announced in the coming months. The league’s events will once again be broadcasted globally on GCN+.
