Ethan Hayter Claims Third Place in CRO Race, Viviani Finishes Fourth
Ethan Hayter showcased his impressive sprinting abilities in the penultimate stage of the CRO Race, securing a third-place finish. Meanwhile, Elia Viviani crossed the finish line just behind him in fourth place. The stage proved to be a fast-paced one, with a predominantly downhill course after the initial climb.
To ensure their positioning towards the front, Luke Rowe took the lead for the Grenadiers during the final stretch. The finishing circuit boasted narrow and winding roads, but the team managed to stay out of danger thanks to Josh Tarling’s efforts.
Despite a small setback when Magnus Sheffield crashed on a hairpin bend, he was able to remount his bike and finish safely, without losing any time in the overall standings.
In the final sprint to the finish line, Hayter expertly maneuvered through the pack and surged ahead in the last 50 meters, securing his third-place position. Viviani followed closely behind, finishing in fourth.
As a result of their strong performances, Hayter now sits in second place in the general classification, just nine seconds behind stage winner Orluis Aular from Caja Rural – Seguros RGA. Sheffield also maintains a strong position, currently in third place overall.
