Dylan Groenewegen secures another podium finish at Gooikse Pijl

Team Jayco AlUla sprinter Dylan Groenewegen claimed his second podium finish of the week in Belgium, finishing third at the one-day UCI 1.1 level race Gooikse Pijl.

After a strong performance from his team, the race ended with a bunch sprint opportunity. Groenewegen was led into position by his teammates but was edged out by Jasper Philipsen for the win.

Groenewegen expressed pride in his team’s performance, stating, “We are really motivated for the next opportunity to get that victory.”

Sport Director Dave McPartland praised the team’s efforts, saying, “It was a really good sprint from Dylan and it just proves you know that he is one of the fastest three or four sprinters in the world.”

Groenewegen remains optimistic about future races, noting, “There are still more races left so we have more opportunities.”

The 2023 Gooikse Pijl result saw Jasper Philipsen taking the win, with Olav Kooij and Dylan Groenewegen finishing in a tie for second place.
