David Dekker Places 8th in Challenging Martigues Stage

“It was a difficult day in this weather, with rain throughout the stage. The finish was fast, it was perilous at the end in the entrance to the city, the roads were winding, not to mention all the urban developments. Raúl took a few seconds before the race times were frozen with five kilometers to go. He moved up in the provisional overall standings. As for me, I tried to position myself as best I could in the sprint. It wasn’t perfect, but I’m pleased to start the season with a first sprint, and to come 8th in Martigues.”
