Clément Venturini, 7th on final stage

“The weather was difficult on this last stage. The race was fast. For the ARKEA – B&B HOTELS team, there was a double challenge with Cristián in the general standings and me on the stage. We were focused all day. In the finale, I tried to position myself well. Thibault Guernalec helped me a lot. I’d spotted the finish and, for me, I had to be among the frontrunners. At the 300 m mark, I went out in front and started the sprint. After that, things came back and I collapsed in the last 100 metres. I’m getting closer and closer to victory. On the first day, in Freiburg, I was frustrated not to be able to sprint (8th). I didn’t want to find myself in the same situation. I gave it a go. I have no regrets.
