Christian Scaroni Takes Third Place in Queen Stage of Arctic Race of Norway

In the queen stage of the Arctic Race of Norway, Astana’s Christian Scaroni secured a solid third place in the uphill sprint on the last climb of the day. This impressive performance enabled Scaroni to move up to second place in the General Classification, with just one stage remaining.

“Well, in general I am quite happy with today’s result even if I could not take a win. I missed just a little to take the victory, however, I just gave my all in the sprint. The team worked perfectly for me, and the guys protected me all day long, also making a great effort chasing the breakaway of the day. Well, it was a tough stage with bad weather and crosswind, which provoked echelons. It was not easy to make the selection in the leading group and it took a lot of energy to keep our position, but today we were lucky. Let’s see what will happen tomorrow. I am just one second away from the leader and tomorrow everything could happen. It won’t be easy as still a few teams have ambitions and forces to change the situation in the General Classification. So, we will try our best,” said Christian Scaroni.
