In a thrilling display of strength and strategy, Jonas Vingegaard of Team Visma | Lease a Bike emerged victorious in the mountainous Stage 5 of Tirreno – Adriatico, propelling himself to both the stage win and the leader’s jersey.

The 145-kilometre stage, featuring climbs of the Castellalto and the San Giacomo, saw Vingegaard execute a daring solo move after a relentless effort from his teammates. Describing his team’s performance, Vingegaard expressed his gratitude, stating, “The guys did a fantastic job. I am hugely grateful for that.” He added, “Great that I could thank my teammates in this way.”

As Vingegaard surged ahead with a 30-kilometre solo, he reflected on the team’s race strategy, noting, “We had planned to make the race hard on the final climb and we did.” His exceptional performance not only secured his fifth win of the season but also adorned him with the prestigious blue leader’s jersey.
