Andreas Kron, a standout cyclist in Lotto Dstny’s Tour de France 2022 team, is eager for more success in the upcoming season. Despite facing setbacks, Kron extended his contract with the team for two years and is determined to secure a stage win in the prestigious race.

Reflecting on 2022, Kron described it as a “big rollercoaster” with injuries and Covid-19 infections. However, he also highlighted the Tour of Switzerland and the Tour de France as memorable moments. Kron explained, “I have become mentally stronger… I know I can handle it and I’m ready to come back and go for stage wins.”

Kron also expressed his contentment with his renewed contract, stating, “I am very happy in the team… That is important when you are on the road together for so many days… Together we can develop even more.”

Looking ahead to 2023, Kron emphasized the importance of personal and team development. He hopes to secure victories while targeting several races such as Strade Bianche and the Tour of Catalunya. Kron acknowledged the challenges he has faced in the Ardennes classics but remains hopeful for a strong performance.

In addition to these changes, ProTeam has made various other adjustments, including introducing new trainers, a new nutritionist, and a collaboration with the University of Ghent. Kron expressed his satisfaction with these changes, stating, “I am very proud of that… The new performance team is very good… The collaboration with the University of Ghent is also a big step.”

Ultimately, Kron sees a successful 2023 as achieving both personal victories and further development. He emphasized, “The main objective is to win. And hopefully more than once.”
