Bob Jungels Secures Impressive Fifth Stage and Climbs to Sixth Overall in Tour de Suisse

Bob Jungels, a member of the AG2R CITROËN team, had an outstanding performance in the Tour de Suisse as he secured a fifth-place finish in the eighth stage and climbed to sixth place overall in the final classification. This achievement marks a significant comeback for Jungels, who expressed his happiness with his performance in the grueling race.
Bob Jungels: “I had a great week and I’m very happy to be back. The course was tough, it was very hot, but I felt very good from the very first day. My only regret is that I lost a bit of time on the second and fourth stages, but I made progress as the days went by. The team worked well. I’m relieved to be back among the best and I hope to confirm this in the coming weeks.”
The AG2R CITROËN team has not managed a top 10 finish in the final classification of the Tour de Suisse since 2017. However, this year, Jungels’ impressive performance secures a sixth-place finish, marking a notable improvement. In 2015, Jungels had previously finished sixth in the race.
In addition to Jungels’ success, the AG2R CITROËN team also secured a third-place finish in the final team classification. Clément Berthet, Clément Champoussin, and Nicolas Prodhomme also had strong performances, finishing 6th, 7th, and 10th, respectively, in the youth classification.
