Bob Jungels Secures 9th Place Finish on Stage 8 of the Tour de France

BOB JUNGELS: “A mixed feeling”
“It’s a mixed feeling. I’m very happy with this top 10 after more than three years in search of my sensations. But I made a mistake by sprinting so far. I know I can be among the best on finishes like these. So it’s a shame to come so close to a better result.
This first top 10 finish will do the AG2R CITROËN team a world of good after an unlucky start to the Tour, with Ben O’Connor crashing and suffering a mechanical problem, and Geoffrey Bouchard having to leave the race this morning after testing positive for Covid-19.”
After eight stages, Aurélien Paret-Peintre is 15th overall, 3’08 behind leader Tadej Pogacar.
AG2R CITROËN Supports Vivons Vélo Day for the Institut Pasteur
As part of the Vivons Vélo day supported by AG2R La Mondiale, the 1304km covered by the seven AG2R CITROËN team riders today will be converted into donations by AG2R La Mondiale for the Institut Pasteur, with the aim of funding research into degenerative diseases. They also wore the Vivons Vélo jersey on the signature podium this morning. This year, the goal is to ride 20,000 km at Vivons Vélo rallies all over France. Vivons Vélo day took place on the stage starting from Dole, Pasteur’s birthplace.
