Ben O’Connor finishes third on final stage of Tour Down Under and claims sixth overall
“I was really motivated to achieve a good result on this last stage. The route suited my qualities very well. The team did a great job of tightening up the tempo. For my part, I felt I had good legs. I’m happy to have been able to respond on the last climb, but disappointed that I wasn’t able to win the stage against Simon Yates and Jay Vine. On the positive side, it was a great week to get back into the swing of things. Everyone in the team was up to the task. We’ll have another chance together to win the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race next Sunday.
