New Zealand cyclist Laurence Pithie has bounced back from a tough performance at Kuurne-Bruxelles-Kuurne to claim an impressive result at Le Samyn this past Tuesday. Riding for “La Conti,” Pithie sprinted to eighth place in a reduced peloton, showcasing his skills and determination on the Belgian roads. His focus now shifts to his upcoming race at Paris-Nice, set to start this Sunday.
The race at Le Samyn, following the commencement of the Classics campaign, provided a challenging course for the riders. Despite facing mechanical issues and setbacks during the competition, Pithie’s perseverance shone through. Reflecting on the race, Pithie shared, “I had a mechanical problem after the first cobbled sector… It was a really crazy race.” His coach, Frédéric Guesdon, acknowledged the challenges faced by the young riders, highlighting the teamwork and strategic support provided to Pithie during the event.
