Bahrain Victorious to Paris-Nice

# Bahrain Victorious Prepares for Challenging Paris-Nice 2026

Bahrain Victorious is set to tackle the Paris-Nice race from March 8 to 15, 2026, marking an ambitious challenge over eight stages that promise both excitement and difficulty. Covering approximately 1,200 kilometers, this year’s event features a crucial 23.4 km team time trial and several selective midweek stages, culminating in a demanding summit finish at Auron. As the race unfolds, the general classification will develop progressively, shaped by strategic positioning and teamwork.

Lenny Martinez will lead Bahrain Victorious in the quest for general classification victory. Reflecting on his return, Martinez commented, “I like Paris–Nice. It’s a special race for me — it was my first win in Bahrain colours last year and I have good memories from that moment.”

The team time trial on Stage 3 will serve as a pivotal moment in the race, with cohesion among the seven riders essential for establishing a strong foundation. Following this, the profile of the race becomes more challenging, beginning with an uphill finish in Uchon, setting the stage for a fierce competition.

“The course suits me well with some punchy finishes and hard climbs,” Martinez noted, acknowledging the intense competition he anticipates. Throughout the early part of the week, Phil Bauhaus will represent the team in sprint stages, capitalizing on potential opportunities depending on the dynamics of the race.

Nikias Arndt and Kamil Gradek are entrusted with the responsibility of protecting Martinez in crucial moments and exposed areas, while Robert Stannard and Mathijs Paasschens will support early sprint efforts but stay adaptable as the terrain evolves.

Sports Director Roman Kreuziger emphasized the team’s balanced composition: “For the opening flat stages, Phil has shown excellent shape, which is promising for the sprint opportunities early in the week… The team time trial will also be important; it requires commitment from everyone and sets the platform for the second half of the race.” He highlighted Lenny’s growth as a rider since last season, along with the experience of Damiano Caruso, who will serve as road captain, guiding Martinez through the complexities of the race.

Notably, due to local elections in France, the final stage will not conclude on the Promenade des Anglais as it has in years past but will instead feature a revised circuit around Nice incorporating additional climbs. With a mix of strategic planning and individual talent, Bahrain Victorious is poised to make an impactful statement at this prestigious race.
