Bahrain Victorious Ready to Take On Japan Cup with Strong Line-Up
Team Bahrain Victorious is gearing up to participate in the 30th edition of the Japan Cup, a 164.8 km road race that will take place in Utsunomiya. The race will consist of 16 laps of a 10.3 km course, featuring the challenging Mt Kogashi climb and a total elevation of 3,000 meters.
Leading the team is experienced rider Yuki Arashiro, who will be competing on his home roads. Arashiro’s knowledge and expertise will be valuable for the young team. Hermann Pernsteiner, in his final race with the team, is determined to display a strong performance. Young Italian riders Buratti and Zambanini will also play crucial roles as they aim for a notable result in the race. Sergio Tu, who impressed with his performance in the individual time trial at the Summer Asian Games, completes the team’s five-rider line-up.
Sports Director Franco Pellizotti has high hopes for Buratti, stating that he has shown good form in recent races. “We have a good team, and Buratti has shown good shape, which he demonstrated at Lombardia and Croatia. When he is in this condition, we will try to get a result,” Pellizotti said. With Pernsteiner’s farewell race, the team is confident that he will give his best to achieve a strong result. Tu, on the other hand, will be out to join a breakaway, while Arashiro, racing on home roads, is determined to achieve a great result.
However, the team is aware of the tough competition they will face, with seven WorldTour teams participating in the race. Pellizotti acknowledges the challenge, but emphasizes that the team is highly motivated to perform well. “There are seven WorldTour teams here, so for sure, it’s not going to be easy to get a result, but I’ve spoken with the guys, and they are all highly motivated to put in a good race and try to get a result,” Pellizotti concluded.
The team’s determination, combined with their strong line-up and Arashiro’s home advantage, sets the stage for an exciting race for Bahrain Victorious in the Japan Cup.
