Team Jumbo-Visma riders Attila Valter and Sam Oomen are preparing to end their seasons on a high note in the Italian autumn classics. Valter, who has had an impressive first year with the team, will be competing in the Giro dell’Emilia, the Tre Valli Varesini, and the Giro di Lombardia alongside team leader Primoz Roglic.

Valter, a 25-year-old Hungarian, expressed his excitement for the upcoming races, stating that the short and steep climbs suit his abilities. “I expect to be able to support our leaders for a long time,” Valter said confidently. He also reflected on his incredible first year with the team, which exceeded his expectations. “I’m learning a lot from the riders and staff, which has allowed me to develop well. I owe my current form to the team.”

Meanwhile, for 28-year-old Dutchman Sam Oomen, these races hold a special significance as they will mark his last races for Team Jumbo-Visma. Oomen will be competing in the Giro dell’Emilia, the Coppa Bernocchi, the Gran Piemonte, and the Giro di Lombardia. In the Coppa Bernocchi and Gran Piemonte, he will have the role of assisting race leader Wout van Aert.

Looking back on his time with the team, Oomen expressed a warm sentiment. “I look back on my time with the team with a very warm feeling. I have been part of some great stories and met some wonderful people.” He also mentioned his determination to perform well in his final races with the team, saying, “Next week, I will do everything possible to perform well again.”
