Arnaud Démare Reflects on Rebound with Arkéa-Samsic at Paris-Tours
Professional cyclist Arnaud Démare expressed his satisfaction with his recent rebound while competing with the Arkéa-Samsic team at Paris-Tours. In an interview, Démare discussed the challenges of the race and the support he received from his team.
Regarding the race, Démare highlighted the tense atmosphere and the presence of numerous punctures. He stated, “The Arkéa-Samsic team had quite a few punctures, although I was spared this kind of problem. Punctures are a regular feature of Paris-Tours nowadays.” Despite the difficulties, he praised his team’s performance, mentioning the excellent support he received during the race.
While acknowledging his limitations in the final stretch, Démare recognized the efforts he made to control the peloton. He admitted, “I wasn’t strong enough to pedal away and drop everyone else.” However, he expressed gratitude towards his team and their collective work, emphasizing their contribution to his success.
Reflecting on his recent achievements, Démare highlighted the positive impact of joining Arkéa-Samsic. He credited his rebound to the opportunity he had in August and the subsequent victories in two races. Looking forward, he expressed optimism for the 2024 season with ARKEA-B&B HOTELS, stating, “I’m looking forward to lots of things next year, but above all to winning races.”
Démare concluded by expressing his excitement about being able to continue with Arkéa-B&B HOTELS next year, as he already feels comfortable within the team. He mentioned, “I won’t have to adapt to the team from January 1 next year. I’ve already got my bearings. That’s time well spent.”
