Andrea Vendrame Takes Third Place in Vuelta a España Stage 2

Third on stage 2 of the Vuelta a España in Barcelona, Andrea Vendrame takes his third podium of the season. The Italian rider of the AG2R CITROËN team had finished second to Nans Peters in the Trofeo Laigueglia last March. He also took third place in the Muscat Classic in February.

“Andrea Vendrame is also third in the points classification of the Vuelta a España. It’s been a good start,” says Julien Jurdie, sports director of the AG2R CITROËN team. During this Vuelta a España, our ambition is to be opportunistic on the stages to go for a win. Starting with a podium finish gives Andrea and the whole team confidence. It was important for the team to be present from the outset. The mission was a success.
