Álvaro García Joins Israel – Premier Tech Academy to Bolster Team
Israel – Premier Tech Academy has secured a promising young talent in Álvaro García, the national junior road race champion from Spain. García will join the team in 2024 on a two-year deal.
“I’m really looking forward to joining the team next year,” García explains. “I picked Israel – Premier Tech Academy because I believe the structure is really good and that it’s a place where I can grow and improve as a rider and get the opportunity to ride a good calendar. In the future, I see myself as a complete rider but first and foremost as a climber.”
The 18-year-old Spaniard has had an impressive season, securing six victories, finishing fourth overall in Vuelta a Madrid U23, and claiming bronze in the Spanish junior time trial championships.
“Álvaro is a strong rider and we are really happy to have signed him,” says IPT Academy manager Jens Blatter. “He’s already a good climber and he can also time trial, so he has everything it takes to become a good GC rider. With us, he will be able to have the time he needs to develop into a strong professional rider for the future.”
