Alexey Lutsenko Takes Second in Head-to-Head Sprint in Vuelta a Andalucia Stage 4
Alexey Lutsenko was close to securing his second victory in the Vuelta a Andalucia after winning the Clásica Jaén, but in Stage 4, he finished second in a head-to-head sprint against Wout Poels. Lutsenko commented on his performance, saying, “In the end I just missed some energy in the legs…it was a good try to bring the team another victory.” The stage saw many attacks, and Lutsenko, along with Miguel Angel Lopez and Harold Tejada, formed a breakaway group of 15 riders. However, Poels was the only rider able to follow Lutsenko’s attack, resulting in a sprint finish. Despite missing out on the win, Lutsenko remains motivated to support his teammate Lopez in the final stage with an uphill finish. The Astana Qazaqstan Team still leads the team classification of the race.
