Lotto Soudal has recently announced that it will be extending its contract with premium brand Campagnolo for the upcoming 2021 season. This means that Campagnolo will continue to supply wheels and groupsets for the Lotto Soudal WorldTeam, as well as the Ladies and U23 teams.
Lotto Soudal General Manager, John Lelangue, expressed his pride in the longstanding partnership with Campagnolo and its contributions to the success of cycling champions over the years. He stated, “For over 80 years, the quality and precision of Campagnolo’s products have contributed to the victories of the greatest cycling champions of all time. We are proud to feature in that list.”
Campagnolo Marketing Manager, Nicolò Ildos, also expressed his excitement about the continued partnership, saying, “It’s more than ten years that we share the roads together with Team Lotto Soudal and we are delighted to enhance our partnership for the next season. We had incredible memories over the years and we are sure more will come in 2021. Having even the Ladies and the U23 teams will provide a full testing platform for our product.”
Not only is Campagnolo known for its performance and quality, but the aesthetics of its products are also highly regarded by the riders. Caleb Ewan, the Australian sprinter for Lotto Soudal, expressed his admiration for Campagnolo, stating, “The Campagnolo groupset is definitely the nicest groupset to look at on a bike. It would be my only choice if I ever had to design a bike.”
Several riders from Lotto Soudal shared their preferences for Campagnolo’s products. Philippe Gilbert spoke highly of the Campagnolo Bora 50, stating, “I use the Bora 50 because it’s a wheel able to go everywhere, it can descend and climb really good – I’m really happy with this.” Caleb Ewan also expressed his preference for the Bora 50, saying, “My favourite wheel combination is the Bora 50 in the back and front. They’re what I like to sprint on and even in the mountain stages they’re light enough to go through the mountains.”
Lotto Soudal’s head mechanic, Steven Van Olmen, highlighted the exceptional performance and characteristics of the Campagnolo Super Record EPS 12 Speed electronic Disc Brake groupset. He emphasized, “Fast shifting, always precise and effortless for the cyclist, and a very gradual gear ratio are just some of the extraordinary characteristics of the EPS groupset, whose performance is ensured by the tried and tested Campagnolo disc brake system and the AMS (Adjustable Modulation System) and Reach adjustment management options. It makes our work even a bit easier.”
The Lotto Soudal Ladies and U23 Teams will also benefit from the partnership, using the Ridley Helium SLX Disc bikes equipped with the Campagnolo Super Record EPS electronic rim brake groupset and Campagnolo Bora One 35 and Campagnolo Bora One 50 wheels.
This ongoing partnership between Lotto Soudal and Campagnolo promises to continue delivering high-performance equipment for the teams’ success in the upcoming 2021 season.
