Aleksandr Vlasov Makes a Strong Start to the Season with a Podium Finish

BORA – hansgrohe’s Aleksandr Vlasov began the European racing season with an impressive second-place finish at the Trofeo Calvià. The Mallorca Challenge saw Vlasov narrowly miss out on first place as he was only beaten by Simon Carr in Palmanova. Vlasov’s performance was particularly commendable considering a recent training crash. The race featured numerous attacks, with Vlasov breaking away in a trio that ultimately competed for the victory. Despite narrowly missing out on first place, Vlasov expressed satisfaction with the race as a strong start to the season. He stated, “It was a very hard race, and the last part was only full gas. This was exactly what we expected. We wanted to do the race as hard as possible ourselves, to let only a small group come to the finish. Unfortunately, I didn’t win but it was a good race to start into the season anyway.”
