After the race, Vlasov commented, “The race really exploded on the climb. I did my best but it was quite hot and it wasn’t easy. I was dropped a bit, but after I found my rhythm I was able to close the gap in the descent. In the final sprint, I tried to follow Roglič because he is very explosive, but in the end, he was just too fast. I think that today, second place was the best result that I could achieve, so I am very happy with the result.”
Vlasov’s strong performance on the queen stage of the Vuelta a Burgos is a testament to his climbing skills and indicates that he is a force to be reckoned with in the race. With two days remaining, he will surely continue to fight for a top position in the general classification.
