Italian cyclist Alberto Bettiol has signed a contract extension with EF Education–EasyPost, the team announced today. Bettiol, known for his impressive racing career and his recent victory at the 2021 Giro d’Italia, has been with the team since 2014 and expressed his excitement to continue his journey with them.
Bettiol’s passion for cycling began at a young age in the hills of Tuscany. With the support of his coaches and supporters, he quickly proved himself as a strong junior and U23 rider. His dedication and talent led to his first professional contract with EF Education–EasyPost.
However, Bettiol’s ultimate dream was to become a champion and win some of the biggest races in cycling. In 2019, that dream became a reality when he won his first Monument, the Tour of Flanders. This victory not only changed his life, but also instilled the confidence in him that he could compete against the world’s best riders.
Since then, Bettiol has continued to impress with a series of notable results, including a stunning solo stage victory at the 2021 Giro d’Italia. He has also achieved podium finishes at races such as the Tour de France, Tour de Suisse, and Deutschland Tour.
Looking ahead to 2023, Bettiol has set his sights on the spring classics, a race type that holds a special place in his heart. Despite the many opportunities to travel that cycling has provided him, he always finds joy in returning to his roots in the Tuscan hills.
Bettiol’s decision to renew his contract with EF Education–EasyPost reflects his confidence in the team’s support and dedication to helping him achieve his goals. With this contract extension, Bettiol will continue to compete at the highest level of professional cycling and strive to secure more victories in the years to come.
