AG2R CITROËN Riders Update: Franck Bonnamour out for 4 weeks with fractured foot

Serge Niamke, AG2R CITROËN team doctor, provides updates on the recovering AG2R CITROËN riders.

“Franck Bonnamour, who crashed on the second stage of the Tour des Alpes Maritimes et du Var, underwent further tests which revealed a fractured right foot. The Breton from the AG2R CITROËN team is unavailable for 4 weeks. A check-up will be carried out at the end of March to decide whether or not to resume training,” said Niamke.

Another rider, Nicolas Prodhomme, who had surgery for a fractured right clavicle resulting from a crash during the Grand Prix Cycliste La Marseillaise, has already resumed training. The 26-year-old is currently participating in the AG2R CITROËN team’s training camp on the Costa Brava (Spain) from March 6 to 11, and a return to competition is expected afterwards.

Antoine Raugel, who recently had surgery on the iliac artery in his left leg, has been cleared to return to outdoor cycling. Raugel is currently training with the AG2R CITROËN team at the Costa Brava (Spain) from March 6 to 11, and he is expected to resume racing in April.

Meanwhile, Marc Sarreau, who has been battling tendinitis in his left knee since January, has returned to training. However, his return to competition is yet to be determined.

Lastly, Damien Touzé, who suffered a fall during Le Samyn, has been undergoing physiotherapy for a bruised left knee. He is set to resume racing at the Grand Prix de Denain on March 16.
