Van Empel’s team played a crucial role in her success, with race coach Lieselot Decroix praising their efforts. “The team did an excellent job,” Decroix said. “That allowed us to stay in control. The plan was to start the sprint early, and Fem did just that.”

Despite not claiming victory, Decroix expressed pride in the team’s performance throughout the weekend. “We can be proud of the course we rode here,” she commented. “Of course, I would have preferred to win, but I am very proud of the girls.”
